A BRIDGWATER artist has scooped an award for her masterpiece at this year’s Bridgwater Arts Centre Summer Exhibition.
Pat Preater was awarded the John Allen Prize ‘Come Outside’ exhibition, organised by the Chandos Society of Artists, for her painting of the Blake Museum building seen from Blake Gardens.
Among those congratulating Mrs Preater were Nick Cotton, exhibition judge, John Allen, Chandos Society president, and the Mayor and Mayoress of Bridgwater.
The exhibition pieces are the result of local artists braving the rainy weather to paint Bridgwater and the Levels on the society’s ‘Countryside’ days.
Mrs Preater’s and other pieces of artwork are now on show until October 4 at Bridgwater Arts Centre.
