AN expert on orchids will be giving Somerset gardeners some advice on exotic plants at Monkton Elm Garden and Pet Centre next month.
Manos Kanellos, from Growth Technology, will be at the Free Orchid Day on Tuesday October 7 to provide customers with helpful tips and plant MOTs.
Andrew Pitman, duty and plant manager at Monkton Elm, said: “We are delighted Manos will be on-site to offer expert orchid advice during the event.
“The day will give orchid enthusiasts the chance to find out how to best look after their plants, as well as have any of their queries answered.
“People are welcome to bring their own orchids along during the day and Manos will be able to give them a free orchid MOT during his orchid clinic and diagnose any problems they may have.
“We will also be offering visitors the chance to get their orchid re-potted during the event. This will cost £2 or will be free for anyone who purchases a pot and Orchid Focus re-potting mix.”
The event runs from 10am-4pm and Manos will host talks at 11am and 2pm.
