YOUNG and love film?

The British Film Institute, the UK’s lead organisation for film, is calling for 16 to 19- year-olds to sign up for a place in its October 2014 BFI Film Academy.

Talent and commitment is the name of the game – youngsters don’t have to be studying media to apply.

The seven-day programme will give young cinema creatives the chance to take part in masterclasses from industry professionals, watch and discuss British and world cinema, make two short films and receive career signposting.

Participants will also work towards their Silver Arts Award.

After an induction day on Saturday October 18, the BFI course will run from Monday October 27 until Saturday November 1. The course costs £25.

To apply, download an application form, complete it and send it back to Somerset Film by Monday October 6.

Successful applicants will be notified by Wednesday October 8.

Send your form via email to Deb Richardson or post to The Engine Room, 52, High Street, Bridgwater, Somerset TA6 3BL.
