MUSIC made on a popular traditional West African instrument will fill the walls of Bridgwater Arts Centre at 8pm on Friday.

Aliou Gassama and Adam Doughty have long-worked together in music and making koras (or 21-stringed lute-bridge harps).

They are currently touring a musical-educational performance as part of a WOMAD Foundation kora initiative.

Descent from a traditional Jali family and hereditary musician’s caste in Zinuinchor, Senegal, Aliou creates the koras and ships them to the UK, where Adam completes the instruments and sells them around the world.

Audience members will have a chance to meet the pair after the show and have a go at playing the traditional instruments.

Tickets cost £10 (£8 concessions) – visit bridgwaterartscentre.co.uk to book online, or call 01278-422700.
