A TAPESTRY depicting events in Bridgwater's long history goes on show for one day only on Saturday at the town hall.
The embroidery was crafted by two installments of Westover Secondary School - in 1951, when the school was for girls only, and extended in 1969 after it had become mixed.
Created to mark the Festival of Britain in 1951, the linear tapestry is made up stitched panels depicting events in the town's history.
It was then extended, 18 years later, to celebrate 500 years of the Bridgwater mayoralty.
The exhibition opens between 10am and 3pm, and entry is free.
