A TOP jazz star and EastEnder who has performed with Stevie Wonder, Robbie Williams, The Who and Bjork hits Bridgwater in August for a one-off music event.
Beyond being dubbed a virtuoso vocalist, actor and composer, Cleveland Watkiss has some stunning accolades.
Co-founder of the influential Jazz Warriors big band, he was crowned Best Vocalist in the London Jazz Awards 2010 and is three-times winner of the Wire/Guardian Jazz Awards.
Major concert halls, festivals and clubs worldwide regularly welcome his VocalSuite, a solo voice performance, and performances with his new quartet, CWQ.
He also designed the vocal curriculum for BA students at the Weekend Arts College, and is a
facilitator and voice coach at the Hackney Empire Theatre in London.
On Saturday, August 2, at 2.30pm, Watkiss, with Bridgwater Amateur Operatic Society, will take an afternoon masterclass at Bridgwater Arts Centre, followed by his VocalSuite at 7.30pm.
