Paul Bovett’s slide collection, entitled ‘50 years of a Somerset town’, is a bright mixture of his own and donated shots takes place tonight at the arts centre.
He told the Mercury: “It’s all photos.
"I’ve done slide shows before, mainly in village halls and for charities.
“When the arts centre asked me if I could do the same for them it went ridiculously well.
“Last time we had to turn away 30 people. At present we’ve sold over 60 tickets.”
So, what can people expect?
“I’ll look at how, for example, a building looks now, compared to how it looked 40 or 30 years before, plus some scenes from events past, people, the fair, the docks, and ‘a bit of archaeology’,” said Paul.
“I also put in some fun things to relieve the agony, and the best thing is the bar in the interval – the second half of the slide show is even better if you’ve had some alcohol!”
Entry costs £6 to the slide show, which starts at 8pm.
