THEY started up in “that outstandingly bad winter of 2012”, yet it’s the sound of summer that Devonshire band, Little Picnic, bring to The Cobblestones this weekend.
Fronted by ‘chanteuse extraordinaire’ Ollie Oliver (above) with her smoky-sweet vocals, the group’s speciality is ‘feelgood music’.
Guitarist and singer Tim Royce said: “We think of it as mellow and sophisticated but we mostly rock out”.
Expect ‘dance-floor stuff’ with a beat-up old guitar, from Kirsty MacColl to Fairground Attraction via Elvis.
Catch a listen ahead of the gig, 9pm-11pm on Saturday, on the website at lemonrock.com/littlepicnic
