NYE: Countdown with live local talent
5:56pm Tuesday 31st December 2013 in What's On
IN NEED of inspiration for tonight’s New Year festivities? A raft of South West talent is blasting out the sound until countdown for live music lovers in the Bridgwater area.
Glastonbury group, Soulville Express, will be serving up soul-filled sounds with a set at Bridgwater’s Bar 27. Expect a mix of soul, funk and disco feel-good tracks spanning Aloe Blacc to Al Green.
Formed in 2013, the five-strong Cellar Door is gaining a reputation as a rock-pop covers band. Tonight they’re over at the Harvest Moon in North Newton, playing a selection of tracks taken from seventy years of music history, until the early hours.
From 8pm onwards, Oasis-inspired covers troupe, Casual Addicts, will be stepping on to the stage at the Kingston Club in Kingston St Mary. The indie pop-rockers are crossing the county border fresh from a spate of Devonshire gigs.
Eclectic rock arrives at Pawlett Pavilion in the shape of The Rejects, starting at 9pm. The band will showcase their own material, combined with recognisable classic rock.
Fans of the Foos, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Queens Of The Stone Age and The Kinks should check them out, for a show of “addictive rock that gets into your veins”.

While not far away at Pawlett’s British Legion, energetic music man Dave Rich will be serving up a show of self-penned tracks and covers from 9.15pm.
Rich has played the regional music circuit for almost two decades, releasing two albums.
