BURGEONING Bridgwater talent was key in the sell-out success of Southwest Rocks at Christmas, a show from composer and choirmaster Mark Whitford-Williams at the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre.

The combined forces of Bridgwater, Bristol and Taunton Rock Show Choruses told his heart-warming story of Ruke and Aelra, the Romeo and Juliet of the turkey world, which is at the centre of the show, ‘Just for Tonight – the Night the Turkeys Flew’.

A star was born in Angus Russell, who narrated with a ‘liquid chocolate voice’. This was a first foray into show business for Angus, an operations director for Brittania Lanes of Somerset.

He was ably supported by Claire Baker whose beautiful soprano voice has graced the South West in recent years, and Ellie Launders-Brown, soprano from Wells Voluntary Choir.

A wonderful way to start the Christmas season and a good time had by all.
