MARKETEERS Carnival Club truly heralded Christmas in with its Showtime night at Bridgwater Town Hall.
Superb and slick vocalist Neil Stephenson kicked off the show with ‘I’ll be There’, a Drifters medley, and ‘Having a Party’, which was clearly what everyone was in the mood to do.
Highlight of the evening was magician and illusionist Mr Eerius, an unusual, silent act, choreographed to electronic dance music – even incorporating an Irish Riverdance!
We certainly would have been alright if it had rained as an amazing number of umbrellas were produced all over the stage!
He was continually moving around and incorporated rope tricks, compact discs and even numerous bottles of Coca Cola!
Coloured sand was produced from bowls of water changing to Coca Cola and back again! Mr Eerius’ quirky act finished with inflatable dice tumbling out all over the place leaving everyone completely mystified.
After drinks were refreshed and snacks eaten it was Tank Sherman who had everyone in fits of laughter with his hilarious stories, jokes and expressions.
He is always a welcome visiting performer and as usual received a great reception.
It was then time to be taken back to the swinging ’60s and groovy ’70s, courtesy of the psychedelic looking Flower Power Band, taking all on a trip down memory lane.
