A BRITISH blues-rock power trio are bringing their souped up sounds to Bridgwater Arts Centre this Saturday.

The group, which boast elements of British rock supergroup Cream, early American rock band ZZ Topp and American blues rock guitarist and singer Joe Bonamassa, will play original tracks from their latest album ISSUES along with a few classics.

Radio presenter Stephen Foster said Absolution are a “great little blues-rock band with plenty of quality original songs,” while Maverick magazine said the trio are “a complete and very tight rock/blues package”.

Blues purists won’t be disappointed by their material which covers the whole range of the blues spectrum, from the groovy blues rock of Train Ride, the country blues of Bringing Her Back Home, the heavy slide guitar-driven Absolution to the slow Blues of Slipping Away.

Absolution formed in May 2010 and have already secured support slots with blues legends Dr Feelgood.

They have also performed two gigs at London’s exclusive Embassy Club and the iconic 100 club.

Absolution are coming to Bridgwater on April 20 and tickets cost £10 for the gig which starts at 7.30pm – for more information visit the website at www.bridgwaterartscentre.co.uk
