Bridgwater Amateur Operatic Society gearing up for My House
12:27pm Thursday 7th March 2013 in What's On
Will Churchill as Joe and Paige Brunton as Sarah in Bridgwater Amateur Operatic Society's production of My House.
BRIDGWATER Amateur Operatic Society is calling all schools to support its most expensive production yet.
The £20,000 show, My House, combines a witty and brilliantly crafted romantic tale which promises to resonate with young people.
Like the original, Our House, which was first staged at the Cambridge Theatre in London in 2002, the Spring production features the energetic and catchy songs of Madness including ‘It must be love’ and ‘Our house.’
The story centres on Joe Casey who breaks into a building site on his sixteenth birthday to impress his girlfriend.
When the police arrive his life splits in two and so does he. There is the Good Joe, who stays to help and Bad Joe, who flees.
Schools and colleges can book their tickets for the preview evening on April 23 now.
Tickets cost £8 for schools and between £10-£16 for individuals.
Performances will run from April 23 to April 27 at The Town Hall, Bridgwater, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets will be on sale at the Carnival Centre in High Street, Bridgwater on Saturday, March 30 and April 6, 13 and 20 April from 10am to noon, or call the box office on 01278-662181.
