Stir it up! 100% reggae at EMN Hall, Monksilver
TEN-PIECE Hail Jamaica Reggae Band will be playing at the EMN Hall, in Monksilver, on Saturday, February 2.
The 100 per cent Reggae Night, which is taking place close to the birthday anniversary of superstar Bob Marley, also features Troy Ellis, son of the legendary Alton Ellis O.D. ‘King of Rocksteady’.
A natural performer from the early ages of childhood on the streets of Trenchtown, Jamaica, to more recent times at London’s Royal Albert Hall and Glastonbury Festival’s Jazz World Stage, Troy mixes dance, vocals and a burning desire to party like his audience.
His ten-piece band lends its impressive, precision-drilled backing to a rousing set of great dance music reflecting the fantastic variety and sophistication of reggae.
Doors and bar open at 7.15pm, with an optional two-course FairTrade Jamaican-style supper served from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.
The set starts at 9pm and tickets, at £10, are on sale at Toucan Wholefoods in Minehead, Taunton Tourist Office, Wiveliscombe Post Office, Nurtured by Nature in Wellington or at www.wegottickets.com
