FANS of catchy folk rock ditties are in for a treat as a popular Irish band makes a return to Bridgwater.
The melodies and themes of The Saw Doctors (above) resonate with a wide range of audiences and ensure an ever-increasing and enthusiastic following.
The band's seventh studio album. 'The Further Adventures Of The Saw Doctors’ is probably their most impressive collection of songs to date.
Loved and revered by their loyal fans, the band continues with a resilience and an effervescent energy which have seen them in the spring of 2011 play an 18-date coast-to-coast tour of the US, a trip around Britain and a number of festivals.
The Saw Doctors have spent decades sharpening their skills as performers, preferring life on the road to time spent in the confines of the studio.
Nonetheless, they have scored several number one hits in Ireland, including I Useta Lover in the mid-1990s, which remains Ireland's biggestselling single of all time, as well as seven albums to their name.
Their live performances reveal a light-hearted bunch of down-to-earth lads, retaining their reputation as 'a people's band'.
They will play at The Palace in Penel Orlieu on Tuesday, December 11, at 8pm. Tickets cost £22 from Strings 'n' Things, West Quay Records, via www.midnightmango.co.uk or by calling 08444-771000.
