Rylan Clark-Neal has pledged to get social media neophyte Louis Walsh on Twitter during the forthcoming series of The Xtra Factor Live.
The presenter is set to host the new-look X Factor spin-off programme with Matt Edmondson, with each episode airing directly after the main show on ITV2 every night and going out live from the start of the series for the first time ever.
As well as getting viewers up to speed with the latest goings-on in the companion show, Rylan will focus on his social media mission.
During the press launch ahead of the new series, Louis, 64, explained that he doesn’t have a Twitter account because he’s a “loose cannon”.
He said: “I couldn’t be on there because I’d say how I really feel.”
He added that people “don’t like it” when he says what he means.
Louis is the only one of the four judges to be without a Twitter account.
But Rylan insisted that he will endeavour to get Walsh on the site with a verified account before the series ends.
He added, to the TV judge: “You cannot say no, we’ve said it now, we’ll look like mugs… I don’t care, I will set it up on your phone without your knowledge. I know your PIN.”
Louis shrugged and joked: “I’ll have to talk to my lawyers.”
