Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Virshilas has been dropped from the hit show for its next series.

The dancer took an early exit in last year's series when she teamed up with presenter Dan Lobb, but made it was far as fifth the previous year when she partnered Gavin Henson.

Katya, from Lithuania, is the only one of the professionals from last year who will not be returning.

It means James Jordan, who was seen to have an on-screen fall-out with judge Craig Revel Horwood, will return.

The BBC has confirmed that Katya will not be coming back.

Strictly, which returns later this year, has two new executive producers - Glenn Coomber and Andrea Hamilton.

The programme also has a new judge with Darcey Bussell replacing Alesha Dixon, who quit to join ITV's Britain's Got Talent.
