Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher have reportedly remained friends since their split, after an amicable reunion at a recent party.

The couple - who announced they were separating in November following rumours of Ashton's infidelity - were reunited at Kabbalah instructor Yehuda Berg's 40th birthday party at the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles' Century City, according to People magazine.

But while they have managed to put their differences behind them, rumours that they are to rekindle their relationship are untrue, the magazine reports.

An insider at the event revealed: "They were friendly. Ashton got up at one point and grabbed coffee in a paper cup for Demi, and they smiled a few times during the program at each other. They seemed to get along and feel comfortable."

Another source said: "The family is in a pretty good place right now, but Ashton and Demi won't go back to being what they were. Ashton will always be a part of their lives, especially with regard to the girls and how close he is with them."

Demi, 49, was rushed to hospital in January following a reported seizure and spent time in rehab in February, where she was apparently treated for exhaustion.

The source said Ashton, 34, "will always support" his ex, but "the relationship has evolved and will continue to. There are just too many issues to go back. It's about figuring out how to move forward into a new place."
