Strictly Come Dancing favourite Danny Mac has admitted he couldn’t understand why his rumba scored so highly.
The former Hollyoaks star and his dance partner Oti Mabuse scored a total of 35 points on Saturday night for their romantic routine, but Danny didn’t seem sure that he was deserving of the high mark.
Speaking to Zoe Ball on spin-off show Strictly Come Dancing – It Takes Two, he explained that he was surprised the score had been so close to their quickstep mark of 36 points the week before.
He said: “With the quickstep I had the most fun, I would have been happy if we’d got twos, but obviously it went really well.
“With the rumba you just don’t expect that. When we went up and got 8 and three 9s, it didn’t really make sense to me if I’m honest.”
He added of the dance: “It was terrifying during the week. Watching it back, it went a lot smoother than it felt.”
The pair will be dancing a spooky-themed foxtrot in this weekend’s show and Danny revealed: “It’s a corpse wedding that turns dark.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One at 6.45pm.
