Donald Glover’s year just keeps on getting better.
After the huge success of Atlanta, the show he created, directed, wrote and stars in, news recently broke that the actor and rapper is set to play Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars film about Han Solo – something that really means a lot to Donald.
“It’s really crazy. I’m very honoured, it’s a very big deal,” he told Ellen DeGeneres.
“There’s this thing going around the internet of me in a Star Wars t-shirt when I was in high school, so it’s been a long thing… that was the first toy I had, Lando. I remember it like it was yesterday, my dad gave it to me. I had a Darth Vader one, too.”
Donald also touched on his reported role in Spider-Man Homecoming, although the man also known as Childish Gambino has previously stated he’s sworn to secrecy about the role he’s playing.
Nonetheless, with 2016 finishing so strongly for the 33-year-old, the success he’s enjoyed looks likely to carry on into the next year. Let’s just hope we get to hear that Pharos album too, which some fans were lucky enough to hear parts of earlier this year.
