Alesha Dixon has hinted that a Mis-Teeq reunion could be in the works.

The girl group formed in 1999 but split in 2005 after Alesha, Sabrina Washington and Su-Elise Nash decided to pursue solo careers. The band’s hits included Scandalous and All I Want.

During an AOL Build interview with The Huffington Post’s Matthew Bagwell, Alesha said: “I did meet the girls and we had what we call a nice little chat-down. And a good catch-up, and I love the girls and there’s still that respect there.”

She said the band had previously turned down the offer to appear on ITV’s The Big Reunion, which reunited pop bands including Five, Atomic Kitten and Blue.

Alesha, 37, explained: “I love watching the show, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t quite right for us.”

Speaking about their recent catch-up, she said: “We kind of toyed around with the idea of maybe just writing, not putting anything official on it or any pressure on it, and let’s see what organically or authentically grows.

“And I think that’s all I can honestly say about it right now.

“But yeah 100% I would love for us to have a moment and something happen – I just don’t know when or where.”

Alesha said she felt like her former band-mates were her sisters.

“The thing is, when you’re in a band it’s so intense,” she said.

“We were together eight years, you spend more time with each other than you do with your own friends and family, and it’s like being on the road with your siblings. You know what it’s like, you love each other one day, you want to pull each other’s hair out the next day.

“But the love is there and for us the respect is there. What we achieved together was so special.”
