Veep creator Armando Iannucci has revealed he was so devastated at his time with the show coming to an end that he cried as he left the set for the last time.
Armando, who was also behind Brit political comedy The Thick Of It, found waving goodbye to the hit US series, which stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as America’s vice president, an emotional experience.
His job as executive producer on the HBO show may be coming to an end, but it looks like he already has a new project lined up – according to Variety, he will be writing and directing The Death Of Stalin, an adaptation of Fabien Nury’s graphic novel.
The film begins in March 1953 during Stalin’s final days and looks at the chaos of the regime left behind after his death.
Armando has plenty of film experience, having made big screen The Thick Of It adaptation In The Loop and several Alan Partridge films with Steve Coogan.
Shooting on satire The Death Of Stalin is due to begin in 2016.
