Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher, Mercury Prize winners Alt-J and a rare appearance from cult act Portishead look set to be highlights of this year’s Latitude festival.

The event at Henham Park, Suffolk, is marking its 10th year and alongside the musical offering, is also promising hot tubs for weary festival goers along with the chance to take a dip in the picturesque venue’s lake.

Founder Melvin Benn said the line-up for the four-day festival beginning on July 16 was “as strong as it is broad”.

He added: “Every year I challenge myself to build on previous summers and make the festival even better than the year before.”

Alt-J will open the main stage on the Friday night after a series of smaller-scale appearance in previous years.

Portishead – famous for the 1994 album Dummy – will top the bill on Saturday as they make a rare UK appearance.

Noel and his solo project High Flying Birds will close the festival, performing tracks from the new album Chasing Yesterday.

He said: “Well not only have I never played at Latitude before, but I’ve never even been there, ever. So yes, I’m really looking forward to headlining the festival.”

Other big names include the Manic Street Preachers and Laura Marling, who is a Henham Park regular.

Organisers have introduced a new arena – the Solas area – which will offer a holistic spa by day and a late night party by night.

Mr Benn said: “Hot tubs and swimming in the lake will just be the icing on the cake for Latitude 2015 and I’m looking forward to welcoming back all our regular festival-goers, and seeing some new faces there this July.”

The event also includes big name comedy acts, a theatre arena along with film, poetry, literature and cabaret tents.

Alan Davies, Jon Richardson, Jason Manford and Jack Dee are all scheduled to appear in the comedy arena.
