Avon and Somerset police have deployed under cover officers across the festival to carry out general patrol, providing a reassuring presence for festivalgoers and answering questions.

Undercover officers will be out around the site, focusing on drug dealers and potential criminals.

Back at the police compound on Worthy Farm there are CID officers and the interview rooms where people can go to report a crime or be questioned about one they might have committed.

Also there are the stables for the horses and the police command unit where decisions are made.

A police spokesman said: "There are also police operations related to the festival at the Bath and West Showground and back at police headquarters, Portishead.

"Policing the festival, which has roughly the same number of people on site as inhabits the city of Bath, is a 24 hours a day job.

"After the music dies down, the acts go backstage and most of the campers go to sleep, police officers will continue patrolling the site keeping the campers, traders and celebrities safe and sound."
