COUNTY Gazette editor Paul Jones on who he thinks will appear at the 2017 Glastonbury Festival...

Yes, we know Radiohead are headlining and Kris Kristofferson is playing and now it looks likely the much-anticipated Foo Fighters headline set is going to be confirmed.

But who else could be set to take the stage at this year's Glastonbury festival, taking place at Worthy Farm, Somerset, between June 21 and 25?

Well, for what it's worth, I thought I'd throw in my two-penneth to the rumour mill.

Here are a few acts I think could perform...

Ed Sheeran

Bridgwater Mercury:

The boy-next-door singer songwriter has a new album, Divide (it's actually the symbol a la Prince), set for release in March, a huge tour lined up which ends just in time for a slot at Worthy Farm.

He looks like the obvious third headliner after Radiohead and Foo Fighters.

Chance of appearing: 99%

Prophets of Rage

Bridgwater Mercury:

Consisting of members of Rage Against The Machine , Cypress Hill and Public Enemy, Prophets of Rage has been touring non-stop for the past six months or so.

Politically charged, as you'd expect, their anti-establishment stand fits in perfectly with the Glastonbury ethic and they could go down a storm on the Other Stage.

Chance of appearing: 70%

Brian Wilson

Bridgwater Mercury: RETURN VISIT? Brian Wilson in concert at the Pavilion in 2004

The creative genius behind The Beach Boys performed a storming set at Glastonbury in 2005 and has been performing the Pet Sounds album in full during a long-lasting world tour.

He is touring around Glastonbury time, and has a nice break at the end of June, so he could be set to take to the fields of Somerset once again...

Chance of performing: 60%

Green Day

Bridgwater Mercury: Green Day

With a new album and full world tour lined up, bookers at Glastonbury could throw us a googly in the form of pop-punk veterans Green Day.

It would certainly be a talking point among festival regulars...

Chance of performing: 30%

Eddie Vedder

Bridgwater Mercury:

The Pearl Jam frontman is an accomplished performer in his own right and a stripped-down set would fit perfectly at Glastonbury - somewhere like the John Peel, Avalon or even the Acoustic Stage?

He is in Europe in June, having just announced a show at the FIrenze Rocks festival, in Florence, on June 24.

Chance of appearing: 75%

Pink Floyd (sort of)

Bridgwater Mercury: Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters dismisses One Direction's music

Roger Waters and Nick Mason recently hinted they would be up for a slot at Glastonbury as the Floyd (without Richard Wright, obviously).

However, a reunion of that size would take some pulling together in such a short time span - and that's even if David Gilmour was up for it, which is doubtful.

Chance of appearing: 5%

Well, there you go, I've gone for it and put my thoughts in writing. We'll see how I fare in the coming weeks and months, but do let me know if you have any tips, ideas or performers you would love to see!

Let me know...

UPDATE: Oh, just one more thing I forgot to add, and I'm really going out on a limb here, but I think there will be a secret set at some point (probably in The Park) by Arcade Fire.

Chance of appearing: 65%
