TIPPED for a number one single any time soon, Tinie Tempah has concert dates fixed for the Spring.

It is a long time since a British male artist went to No.1 with his debut single and wasn’t part of the X-Factor/Pop Idol set up – but this weekend (March 6-7) could well see him enter the top of the UK singles chart with his debut ‘Pass Out’. Right now he is currently 16,000 sales ahead of his nearest rival.

Currently topping download charts everywhere and stealing the show on the Bizarre Tour, you can catch him live supporting 50 Cent in March and also supporting Mr Hudson in May: Regional dates: March 4, Bournemouth Orange Rooms; March 27, Cardiff Millennium Hall; May 10 Bristol Anson Rooms (with Mr Hudson); DANISH band Alphabeat, who released their new second album on March 1 ‘The Beat Is …’ have announced a UK tour for April. That will include Bristol’s Anson Rooms on Thursday April 29 (08713100000 for ticket info - £12). The band supported Lady Gaga on her current UK arena tour MINI VIVA (produced by Xenomania and managed by 19) are coming to the Colston Hall in Bristol on April 8 to support much lauded street dance troupe Diversity.

Mini Viva made an arresting splash on the pop world with their debut single ‘Left My Heart In Tokyo’ crashing into the top ten and staying their for four consecutive weeks in September 2009. Their distinctive hi-energy sound and glam look won them fans across the spectrum.

Britt and Frankee have since been putting the finishing touches to their debut album and are ready to release pop gem ‘One Touch’. Irresistibly catchy, with nods back to the floorfilling 80s sounds of Chicago house and hi-nrg, this is the perfect soundtrack to dance round your living room, getting ready for a Saturday night on the town with the girls.

Regional dates: Thursday April 8, Bristol Colston Hall; Sunday Apr 11, Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre ; Saturday April 17, Cardiff CIA. The girls also play the Isle of Wight festival on June 11.

DETROIT SOCIAL CLUB have been holed up away from fans for months, handcrafting new material between their Newcastle abode and the capital, alongside producer Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, DJ Shadow) – and they’ve just released the single ‘Kiss The Sun’ from their forthcoming EP.

Following the release of the EP they will be going on tour with The Courteeners and will be at 02 Academy in Bristol on March 9.

SHY CHILD have sadly had to postpone their UK tour due to family circumstances back in their native New York. They will be rescheduling the dates for April/May.
