A THRILLER, based on the brink of a Third World War, is the first book in a trilogy by Adrian Dore, who lives near Wiveliscombe.

A Silent War deals with the issues facing contemporary society, such as the fragile economy and environment.

The book is based in Somerset, Devon and Gloucestershire but has an international backdrop and is billed as ‘tense, diplomatic and dark’.

Organised crime, international terrorism, and the corrupting influence of social and business networks, infiltrated by crime syndicates, are some of the topics tackled in the book.

The South African born author moved to the county, where his wife’s family lives, five years ago.

The book is published in paperback by Vanguard Press.
