A TOP wedding dress designer has become the latest high-profile personality to pledge support for jobs-boosting organisation Into Somerset.

Internationally-renowned Sassi Holford joins a host of famous Somerset ambassadors supporting the inward investment organisation, including Taunton -born businesswoman Deborah Meaden and Mulberry founder Roger Saul.

All the industry figures have backed Into Somerset's recently-launched 'So Well Connected' marketing campaign. One of only a handful of bridal designers whose dresses are still made exclusively in the UK, Sassi's gowns are produced to the highest standards in her Taunton-based studios by a first class team of talented cutters, seamstresses and hand beaders. Speaking after being named an ambassador for Into Somerset, Sassi said: “Above all else, designing and making wedding gowns has to be a passion and in Somerset I have found that passion. I want to do all that I can to promote Somerset as a great place for other creative businesses to thrive.”

Rupert Cox, chief executive of Into Somerset, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sassi as an ambassador for Into Somerset.

“It's great for us to have another of Somerset's leading creative talents on board, helping to promote Somerset as a fantastic, inspiring place to do business.

“Ambassadors are an invaluable resource for the county, spreading the word far and wide about how great it is to do business here. Somerset's creative heritage and culture is second to none and we are always delighted to show new businesses what we have to offer in Somerset and support them in their creation or relocation.”
