THOUSANDS of young people from across Somerset attended one of the largest careers events in the county last week.
The event was organised by careers information, advice and guidance service Connexions Somerset and attracted more than 70 exhibitors and thousands of young people and their parents from all over the county.
Connexions Somerset information and marketing manager Mark Morris said: “The event was a huge success and the feedback we have had from young people, parents and exhibitors has been really positive.
“Previous events we have held have been so successful we decided to extend the opening hours this year which proved to be a good decision as we were constantly busy from start to finish.
“This event was a fantastic opportunity for young people and their parents and carers to gather information and speak with professionals working in the careers and industries they are interested in.
“Connexions Somerset has a proud history of running quality career fairs and this event proved to be yet another great success.
“I would like to say particular thanks to AgustaWestland who were official sponsors of the event.”
The event was held at Westlands Leisure Centre, Yeovil.
