GREENSLADE Taylor Hunt report another buoyant machinery trade at their sale on Friday, September 1, where livestock farmers and machinery traders alike turned out in their droves.

The dispersal was conducted on behalf of the Symes Partners at Wellspring Farm, Misterton, Crewkerne, Somerset. The tractor line contained the highest prices of the day, topping at £11,000 for a 2004 McCormick CX95 complete with a Quicke loader. An ever-popular 2012 John Deere Gator 885 sold for £5,900, which was closely followed by a Ford 3930, which sold for £5,400.

Amongst the farm machinery on offer were a number of impressive items, of which a 22’ Portequip bale trailer led the way and achieved £3,500. Other prices of note included a Richard Western grain trailer selling for £3,400, a Teagle Titan 70 silage trailer selling for £3,300 and also a Taarup 3128 mower conditioner realised £2,850.

Machinery auctioneer Tom Mellor would encourage farmers with surplus agricultural machinery to consider entering it at their forthcoming collective sales at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, which are scheduled for Thursday, September 14 and Thursday, November 16.
