THE Charterhouse specialist auction of classic and vintage cars on Wednesday, September 13 will give bidders the opportunity to buy a 1974 Mini which has spent the past 43 years with one family in Somerset.

“The classic Mini, as we generally refer to these diminutive little cars made by Austin Morris and British Leyland, never fail to put a smile on my face when you see one. They are easy to work on, there is hardly a spare part you cannot get and with thriving club scenes and plenty of classic car shows to attend what’s not to like?” Commented Matthew Whitney. “This combined with them being fun to drive, easy to park in garages, cheap classic car insurance for young drivers and huge smiles per miles ensures they are keenly sought-after when they come up at auction.”

While Charterhouse have sold many Mini’s over the years, from Mini Coopers at over £30,000, this charming little car has spent its entire life in Somerset. With one family only from new and just 27,000 recorded miles, and now covered in a thick layer of dust not having been on the road for the past 10 years, this charming chap is estimated to sell for £2,000-£3,000* when it goes under the Charterhouse hammer on Wednesday, September 13.

Charterhouse is now accepting further entries for their programme of specialist auctions with this sale of classic & vintage motorcycles on September 1, classic & vintage cars on September 13 and their auction of coins, medals, stamps, clocks and other collector’s items on Friday, September 22.
