GENEROUS staff at Hinkley Point B nuclear power station have raised over £20,000 for the St Margaret's Somerset Hospice.

Staff raised the money through activities including family fun days, football matches, raffles, fun runs and quizzes.

Julie Draper, community fundraiser, said: "The support that we have been given by everyone from British Energy has been amazing.

"Everyone has recognised the importance of specialist hospice care and has been highly motivated to work hard to raise funds. Working with the team has been magnificent and they really know how to put the fun into fundraising.

"I would like to thank everyone who has given their time and energy to this cause as the results have been fantastic.

"£20,000 will pay the electricity bill at the hospice for one and a half years."
