Safe found in Westonzoyland
A SAFE found in a ditch in Westonzoyland is now in the secure hands of the police - who are appealing to find its rightful owner.
A village farmer found the safe in a ryhne on Liney Road - near the Battle of Sedgemoor site.
The Stratford Stronghold safe has a keyhole and black lever handle to the front and was originally grey in colour. It is currently locked and shows no signs of having been tampered with.
Bridgwater PCSO Helen Whitehead said: "The safe was dragged out by the farmer who has then given us a call in an effort to find the safe's owner.
"We have no idea where the safe might have come from and are hoping the public could help us trace when the safe might have been stolen or find its rightful owner."
Anyone who can help is asked to contact the police on 0845-4567000 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
