BOWER United have won the Division Two championship in the Uxella Bridgwater & District Sunday League.

However, after three defeats in their final four matches, they needed a league ruling to earn them the title.

United and Bridgwater Wanderers finished level on points and goal-difference, Wanderers having scored the more goals, which would have made them champions. However, Grasshoppers 05 were deemed to have fielded an ineligible player in their recent defeat of Bower and the three points awarded by the league gave United the title.

Woolavington first team retained the Division One championship with victories over Quantock Pride (4-0, Sunday) and Cross Rifles (5-0, Wednesday).
