Squirrels are on the climb in mixed skittles

WITH Squirrels having won their last two matches, it is fair to say that they are out of hibernation now in Division One of the Highbridge Mixed Summer Skittles League.

Highlight of the last two weeks' play was the score of 540 by Diehards on their home alley at the Lighthouse Inn, with Steve Tindall hitting 92. They beat Hell's Angels by 72 pins.

The second division started their season on May 5 both relegated teams, Five Plus and Summersets, lost their opening matches, as did newcomers Wellington Premiers.

Results: Apr 28. Div One - Prince of Wales 399 (James Brazier 60), Squirrels 411 (Neil Baker 58); Hell's Angels 408 (Emily Mead 64), Bloomers 447 (Lyn Close 66).

May 5. Div One - Crown Jewels 450 (Dave Murphy/Ian Cooke 60), Markintears 469 (Richard Wall 71); Diehards 540 (Steve Tindall 92), Hell's Angels 468 (James Pilbrow 69); Squirrels 472 (Malcolm Healey 79), No Fixed Abode 467 (Gareth Parfitt 71).
